Patty Formosa has extensive, first-hand knowledge of how on-line syndicated market data works.
She was integral in developing the AnysiteOnLine Retail Modeling System for MapInfo corporation. AnysiteOnLine is one of the most-used self-serve web-based programs in the U.S. that matches demographic profiles of a community or site with the most appropriate retailer.
Subsequently, as Director of Economic Development for Pitney Bowes MapInfo (PBMI) she built the national practice that focused on helping communities and developers attract and retain the highest potential retail tenant mix. Patty has conducted retail market analyses in more than 50 communities across the nation, from small rural towns, to urban core neighborhoods, to large affluent suburbs. She understands that every community is unique, with its own set of economic drivers and factors that influence potential development.
Her prior work experience also includes twelve years at Ann Arbor-based Thompson Associates, the industry pioneer in retail site location research, where she developed expertise in retail operation, site selection and customer profiling. During this time she built strong client relationships with the real estate divisions of major retail chains, such as Home Depot, Charming Shoppes, and The Sports Authority. Patty earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York at Potsdam; and her Masters from Wayne State University, Detroit, MI.
Patty currently serves on the ICSC committee for the Michigan Retailers’ Breakfast and also served on the Western Michigan Alliance Committee. She is also a member of the Urban Land Institute
